Vinay Jain, M.D.

Dr. Vinay Jain is a board-certified medical oncologist with over 20 years of clinical practice. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio in 1987. Dr. Jain then completed a Fellowship in Medical Oncology in 1989 at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He was the founder of Physician’s Education Resource (PER), the country’s leading Oncology Continuing Medical Education Company, which he successfully grew and sold in 2005. Dr. Jain is also the President of the Jiv Daya Foundation and Shraman Foundation , two Dallas-based 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organizations, which he founded in 2002 and 2010 respectively.

Courtney Follit, Ph.D.

Courtney joined Arog in 2017 as a Research Scientist and is currently the Scientific Lead for Business Development and Licensing. Courtney’s primary focuses include strategic planning for our clinical trials and executing corporate development initiatives.

Courtney received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Southern Methodist University where she studied novel compounds to overcome multidrug resistance in cancer.

Asif Pathan, Ph.D.

Dr. Asif Pathan joined AROG Pharmaceuticals in April 2018 and is primarily responsible for overseeing the clinical pharmacology studies of AROG’s novel anticancer molecule. He brings extensive expertise in preclinical and clinical drug discovery research stemming from CRO, pharmaceutical industry and academic research. Before joining AROG Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Pathan worked as Clinical Research Associate with Medpace, where he monitored the clinical development of new drug molecules in several therapeutic areas including oncology. During his tenure as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Institute of Molecular Cardiology, University of Louisville, Kentucky, he focused on developing regenerative cellular therapy for heart diseases. Dr. Pathan also worked as Research Scientist at the Nicholas Piramal India Limited, where he and his colleagues developed novel nitric oxide (NO)-releasing NSAID compounds and studied their pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties.

Dr. Pathan received his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, USA; MS in pharmacology from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education in Research, Mohali (India); and Bachelor of Pharmacy from Government College of Pharmacy, Karad (India). He is consulting editor for journal, Drug Design, Development and Therapy and has published his own research in several high impact journals. He also co-authored 2 book chapters and participated in nearly a dozen conference presentations.

Sheetal Vali, Ph.D.

Dr. Sheetal Vali joined Arog Pharma in June 2014. She has a diverse scientific background with more than 10 years of research experience in academia and industry. She started her pharma career as a Research Associate at Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Pune, India focusing on design and development of drug formulation for India market and ANDA for regulated markets.

Dr. Vali started working on her PhD in 2006 in the Pharmaceuticals Department at Poona College of Pharmacy and conducted her research at National Chemical Laboratory, Pune on design and evaluation of nanoparticulate drug delivery system with focus on metal nanoparticles, bio-imaging, in vitro cytotoxicity, and in vivo drug delivery applications.

After completing her PhD in 2010, Dr. Vali moved to Dallas, TX and took a position at UT Southwestern Medical Center as a Postdoctoral Researcher. In 2014, she joined Arog in the Drug Development (CMC) group. Since then she has worked on all aspects of product development, including API manufacturing, drug formulation manufacturing, analytical methods development and validation, technology transfers, packaging, stability studies, management and distribution of clinical supplies, and preparing CMC sections for regulatory filings.
